Well, I decided to start using this again. I'm not going to lie and say I have a bunch of new artwork to put up that shows dramatic improvement, cause I don't. I'm kind of at a standstill with my traditional pieces... I haven't really produced anything this year as far as painting/drawing goes that I actually like. Right now in class I'm working on a project that involves a LOT of glitter and sequins. It's quite fun and I hope it turns out well.

So I guess for now this account will be used to practice photography and maybe a little bit of poetry will be thrown in here or there. If I do submit any drawings, they'll probably be put in scraps.

Mostly though I'll be busy getting a 4.4 this semester, haha ;) So close.

i want to tell you about Crisis after crisis.
but i hate to bore you.
Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my fish print.

It's an intalgio print, using hard ground and acid etching. Basically you start with a metal plate, and then the hard ground--a brown mixture that dries hard--is painted on. Once that is dry, you drop it in a bath of acid, which eats away around the dried hard ground. When that is done, you have a plate, which is kind of like a photo negative. You wipe it with ink and put it in a printing press with some paper and voila! It's a very complicated process, but it's really fun. You can get a lot of different results from it, and you can make as many prints as you want.
Oh, and the ink goes in to all the areas that weren't covered by the hard ground, basically. so the white parts were covered and everything else got etched by the acid.
wow, yeah, we're pretty much amazing. unstoppable, even.
